An Office From Scratch

IT'S ALWAYS IMPORTANT TO STAY PRACTICAL!

I'm so excited to be able to share my latest project! I had the pleasure of completely transforming a commercial space into a functional, modular, and absolutely beautiful office for a local accountant. This is one of my favorite types of projects because I really get to start with the basics; a concrete slab floor and white walls.

I approach commercial spaces very differently than I do residential homes. My initial priorities, aside from design, are durability and flexibility. This space needed to be functional, of course: a comfortable and welcoming space for clients to wait, accommodating amenities for employees and customers, and offices that make employees happy to come to work. But it also needed a flexible layout and light, dependable furniture that could be re-arranged for seminars and mixed-use events.

The goal was to make a waiting room that was welcoming, but professional!

I knew that there would be a minimal amount of furniture in the waiting area, so highlighting the floors and walls was important. This faux-wood tile is so, so durable and looks BEAUTIFUL!

A little trick: laying the tile close together and giving it very thin grout lines mimics the look of natural wood!

Installation day is always my favorite!!! Getting to see the room transform is so gratifying! It is also the time I reevaluate the design as a whole - window treatments and accessories are the final stage for this space, so it's time to get to work!
