Inspiration: Scary Good Halloween Decor

Last year we did a “Scary Good Design” Mood Board Monday on our Instagram . You all loved it, the DMs were pouring in. So this year, we decided to do an even bigger round up of some seriously amazing Halloween decor that is not only scary, spooky and creepy, but also chic.

Let’s start with something classic, decorating with pumpkins. We love seeing such a variety of unique pumpkins at the pumpkin patches. It allows you to add more color and texture to whatever your halloween decor theme is. Studio McGee had a few really great classic ways to design with these colorful gourds.

Those flying bats are a classic decor item we always love. But we are also loving all of the creative floating decor. Floating bats, candles, witch hats, all of it is so fun and fairly easy to execute. I personally put floating witch hats on my front patio last year and it only took an hour or so to install.

For me, all things witchy all of the time please. One way to step up your witch game this year is with custom spell books, custom potion labels for your bar, or preserved natural potion ingredients in jars or cloches. Found a few great DIYs below and I am really loving how much cloches are coming back. I love a good cloche and using them for some seriously chic creepy decor is the absolute best.

Let’s talk about cheesecloth. I am now getting to the point where I have cheesecloth fabric in just about every color. You may remember the tablescape from our Earth Sign Dinner Party, we had a mixture of various cheesecloths as runners. Halloween is the perfect holiday to incorporate white or black cheesecloth to bring more texture and dimension to your decor.
